Our Suggestions

Local tourist agencies offer numerous programs for interesting and exciting trips which include sightseeing, exploration, a fine dose of the old adrenalin rush and of course, regular professional quality service. In choosing from the vast number of programs offered by local agencies and tailored according to your needs, we suggest the following:

  • See Zagreb from the air, fly in a hot air balloon, ride in the old city tram made way back in 1923 or leisurely stroll down the city streets accompanied by the heroes from the past, dressed in historic costumes. Whilst enjoying the music, a glass of champagne or just listening to the myths and legends of Zagreb, this city will capture your heart. By actively sightseeing the city and exploring its history, you will learn a lot not only about Zagreb but also about its people.

  • Turn on the lights of Zagreb - lighting the gas lamps in the Upper Town gives you an opportunity to learn more about its landmarks, its myths and its legends. Together with the Upper Town lamps, your love for the city will shine through.

  • Visit Medvedgrad, a medieval fortified town on Medvednica, about 30 - minute drive from the center of Zagreb. Built in 1250, it is one of the largest and most impressive hilltop fortress towns in Croatia. The fortress itself is uniquely impressive and commands breathtaking views of the city of Zagreb below. Take part in a spectacular re-enactment of a medieval battle with swords, bows and arrows. Become a brave medieval knight while the old defence walls of Medvedgrad relive their glory; rattling of the weapons, quarrels of the knights, love sorrows of the maidens... you might even learn how to be a bow archer.

  • Hold your breath as mother-nature awaits you. A visit to Plitvice Lakes is a must. It is only a two hour drive from Zagreb and this natural scape of mountains and lakes will be a breathtaking experience. This phenomenon is under UNESCO protection which vindicates its worth.

  • A trip to Hrvatsko Zagorje with 50 or so castles and numerous churches that were built from the 12th to 19th century is an interesting adventure. The pleasure of your stay will be enhanced by tours along wine roads, as well as tasty food specialties served in local restaurants.

  • Going for a coffee to Split or Dubrovnik? Take a trip to the Adriatic coast and in particular the cities of Split and Dubrovnik. Both are under UNESCO protection and are filled with an immense source of beauty deriving from the past that is appreciated in the present.
